Following the game-changing events of the first season, the narrative broadens significantly, following the ambitious media overlord Vox who takes command of the narrative, sparking a series of ever-more dramatic confrontations that inevitably end in show-stopping song.

Although it may lack a one viral song on the level of season one's "iconic tune," this is due to each element in this season being increasingly interwoven. The action, character arcs, and especially the music are collectively elevated. The season moves the main storyline forward while delivering plenty of bizarre, wild, and simply entertaining dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

Following the legendary Netflix series, Daredevil: Born Again faced enormous expectations. Despite well-documented production challenges, the resulting show proves it was worthy of the wait. The story centers on Matt Murdock after his dual life as Daredevil is publicly revealed, leaving him vulnerable to foes from his history and present in a slightly version of his familiar world.

The premiere is explosive, evoking the intense tone fans loved from the original incarnation. Although the middle chapters venture into some different territory, the season concludes powerfully, setting fans keenly anticipating a follow-up season.

7. Common Side Effects

An unexpected this year's gem, this show could be described as an animated Breaking Bad filtered through a sensibility of King of the Hill. Helmed by Joe Bennett and writer Steve Hely, it follows the story of a mild-mannered fungi expert who discovers a curative mushroom and quickly finds himself hunted by everyone from unscrupulous pharmaceutical executives to government authorities.

Despite being a parody, the narrative unfolds with the serious atmosphere of a 1970s conspiracy thriller. It's a smart, visually striking, and completely compelling ten-episode season.

6. Fallout Season 2

The hit series based on the popular video game series came back with a new batch of episodes that expanded its sprawling mystery and expanded its post-apocalyptic world. Although it travels toward the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is far from a straight adaptation of that game; instead, it continues to examine themes of control and autonomy.

It expertly balances multiple narrative threads and points of view, from Lucy's quest for justice to Maximus's reckoning with the ideology of the his faction. The outcome is a rich detailed and utterly absorbing addition to the expanding Fallout saga.
