Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
