Previous BBC Consultants Participate in MPs' Grilling After Assertions of Partiality in Unauthorized Memorandum

Former BBC specialists appearing before Members of Parliament

We begin with queries from Conservative lawmaker Caroline Dinenage, that leads the panel.

She opens by giving details to the unauthorized memo prepared by Michael Prescott and released in the Telegraph.

"I don't want the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, impartial and equitable," he says.

When asked whether he thinks the BBC is structurally prejudiced, Prescott responds: "No, I do not. To be clear, tons of stuff the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is exceptional - including documentary and entertainment content."

But he adds: "There exists real work that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

The second former external BBC adviser examined by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" regarding fluid and multifaceted topics.

"Did the BBC ready to engage in a proper dialogue and argument and take action?" she asks herself. "From my perspective, yes they were."
