LA Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Back-to-Back World Series Championship
Los Angeles experienced citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined local residents in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured consecutive championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Massive Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an translator.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations started well before the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.
The World Series MVP, named the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the victory.
“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”
Mixed Reactions and City Unity
However, Mark Walter received a cooler welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event seem to depict him walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with jeers interrupting his address.
The World Series acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more support.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
