Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
